    Father-Daughter Relationship

    "The most important thing that a father can do for his children is to love their mother". Our society doesn't frown on daddies who think that changing diapers are a mother's thing. But children should feel that their fathers are as involved in their family as their mothers are.

    There have been studies conducted which gave evidence that father-daughter relationships play an important role in the age that their daughters enter puberty. The study found out that girls who grow up living in a close relationship with their parents, especially with their daddies, reach puberty at a later age. Daughters who are distant to their fathers were found out to have entered puberty early on.

    This study regarding how a father-daughter relationship can affect the daughter's developmental stage was associated with the pheromones. However, the quality of the daughter's relationship with the mother is more closely linked to how the daughter's life would turn out. However, daughters with supportive fathers are the ones who are more successful in life and are those who are less likely to end up with abusive partners.

    Fathers may not be as hands-on as mothers are when it comes to nurturing us. But a lot of daughters actually feel closer to their fathers than they are to their mothers. The term "Daddy's Girl" is in reference to this kinship. Even if some dads may favor male children over girls, they are more overprotective of their daughters than they are of their sons. Their male instinct would know what kind of dangers she might unknowingly fall into.

    A mother's relationship with her daughter will teach her how to be a mother herself. But a father-daughter relationship will show her how to cope up with a husband. A father is a girl's first encounter with males. This is where she would learn about being accepted and valued by the opposite sex. Daddy's love and affection for her little girl will assure her that females are not just sexual objects that some men may regard them as.

    Women who grew up with a good father-daughter relationship will learn how to stand up for themselves in the future. The father's relationship with his wife will also teach their daughters the value of marriage.

    Daddies who show bad behavior will make their daughters think that men are generally like their fathers. They will not teach their daughters the kind of relationships and partners that they deserve to have.

    Daughters may look up to their mothers as their role models, but they will be basing their choice for future partners on their fathers. And indeed some failed marriages are reflective of the homes that each of the couple was brought up in.
